Muay Thai, or Thai Boxing is the national sport of Thailand, and is a fighting technique adapted from the battlefield techniques of the Thai army thousands of years ago. Known as the Science of Eight Limbs, Muay Thai makes use of the knees and elbows as well as kicks and punches.
It is a safe, effective and most importantly, a fun form of exercise which is suitable for all ages and levels of fitness. It is one of the most effective methods of training, a great stress reliever and great fun, and all the while, you are increasing your fitness, physique, strenght and agility.

Both classes are ideal for all levels of fitness and suitable for beginner to advanced practitioners, all being non-contact as we hold optional sparring sessions outside of regular classes.
The Muay Thai classes are taught by Brendan O’Shea.
Brendan has over 10 years experience in the sport, fighting at Amateur and Professional level internationally for many years, and has spent periods living and training in Thailand.
Amongst his achievements are an Anglo-Irish Amateur title and a Bronze Medal at the World Championships held in Kazakstan in 2003.
The gym also has a number of members competing on the Amateur and Professional circuit, and includes a womens 4-Nations Professional champion in Elaine McElligott.
