Hope everyones 2015 is going great so far. So far I’m having a very busy and productive year and we’re still only 3 months in. Where to start? Well, since January I have been working with the Midleton senior hurlers. They are a great bunch of very hard working lads. We did 6 very tough pre-season sessions before the league kicked off. They are actually head of the table as I speak. I’m also involved with the matches doing pre-match massages and taping. I also make sure the subs are warmed up and ready to go if needed. We have started another 6 weeks program at the moment and I’m focusing more on strength maintenance and flexibility with them as their game schedule is pretty hectic.
Closer to home, I had another crack at Runamuck in March, however this time the legs let me down but I still managed a solid 4th place. On the plus side though our team “head down, arse up” won the team category. Nadine won the ladies individual and everyone had a great time getting up to their ears in mud.
I’m on the home straight now with college, so far it has been going great and I’m loving it. As ye will see in the picture, I have built a new treatment room. I’m now offering a range of treatments including sports massage, dry needling, postural and core assessment, pre/post event massage and holistic massage.
Also, starting next week, I’m going to have another yoga class added to the schedule. Miriam is going to be doing another class on Thursday nights at 8:15. It is going to be a varied class with a mix of traditional yoga to the new tune up ball yoga. Every athlete or indeed anyone will greatly benefit from regular flexibility training and what better way than yoga.
Well that’s it for now.
See you on the mats.
