Happy New Year.

By Train Station Gym | In Uncategorized | on January 11, 2016

Here we are at the beginning of a new year. 2015 was everything that I hoped it would be and more. It was my busiest year so far; what with finishing my physical therapy course, opening a brand new sports injury clinic in the Gym, working with the Midleton senior hurlers and adding new classes to our schedule.

Firstly I’m now an ITEC qualified physical therapist with a lovely little clinic set up in the Gym. This side of the business is gradually getting busier. Working with the hurlers has also gave me great experience with working with teams and helping pitch side. I’m also involved with the lads as part of their strength and conditioning program.
However I’m still available to get on board with other teams if needed.

I plan on focusing a little more towards the physical therapy side of things this year. Because of this I have now also brought another trainer on board. Kate is with us now a couple of months and she’s very popular with all our clients.

As usual we have a great selection of classes available, a few of which are unique to us.

BoxingYoga Monday nights at 8pm which has to tried to believe how amazing it is. Anyone afraid to try this because they think they have to chant or laugh etc is in for a shock. This is a workout. I have a resting heart of 43bpm which at some points in BoxingYoga can reach 165bpm. Also I average 350 kcals burned during the class.

Yoga Tune Up is another new class. Although we’re not the only gym in Ireland offering this you’ll be hard pushed to find one with a trainer as good as Miriam Rigney. This Yoga uses 2 balls about the same size as a tennis ball to release trigger points and then stretches to help relieve tight areas. This is a lot closer to traditional Yoga and a great class to start with.

Our class timetable remains the same for now. I’m always open to suggestions or requests for new classes that people are interested in.

Any inquiries please give me a buzz on 085-8307474. If I don’t answer please leave a message as I may be busy with a client and I don’t like to interrupt a session if at all possible.

Here’s to a Brilliant 2016.
