To reiterate what we’ve already posted on our Facebook page (Click HERE to view it), Des and I would like to take a moment to thank all of our clients in the gym for their continued support throughout the year.
It’s been a great year in the gym on a number of fronts. In Muay Thai, Elaine McElligott won both the Irish and 4-Nations professional titles in her weight division, a great achievement given her relatively short time in the sport. We have a number of prospects ready to make their debuts as well next year so watch this space for more success stories. It takes a great team to help prepare and get our fighters ready, and we’re lucky to have a good crew at the Train Station Gym to help us out.
Our Boxing Club is also going from strength to strength, with an ever increasing number of kids signing up to compete. There’s some great talent coming through the doors and the coaches Billy O’Sullivan and Colm O’Riordan are doing a fantastic job bring the kids along.
We’ve also had members placing highly in a number of other competitions including Olympic Weightlifting and Adventure Racing/Obstacle Course challenges.
On the fitness and training front, we have some great plans for the coming year. As well as our existing classes, we’ll be adding Crossfit sessions to the timetable in the very near future. As well as helping our existing clients reach levels of strength and fitness that they’d never have thought possible, this is also a great opportunity to further grow the community aspect of the gym as these workouts really help to bring people together! We’ll also be tying up with other gyms in the region on a regular basis for some friendly competition and other fun activities.
Quite simply, More, More, More!
So that’s it for now. Classes will be starting again from Monday 6th January working off our existing timetable. In the meantime, there will be some Open Gym sessions between now and the weekend – watch our Facebook Page for times.
See ye on the mats!
Brendan & Des.
